Registered Dental Assistant
Born and raised in Leeward Oahu, Del has been in the dental field for over thirty years, nineteen of which have been with the same dental team. Del’s first job opportunity was in the summer of 1973. Before entering 9th grade, she started to work with the Department of Education system under the Title I Summer School Program as a tutor for seniors needing credits to graduate. Del found she loved helping others and this became her permanent summer job through high school. By her senior year, she’d convinced herself of a career in nursing. While waiting for word of acceptance from a nursing school, another opportunity presented itself again. Del accepted her first position as a dental assistant in late 1977 at the Barber’s Point Naval Dental Clinic. There, she got over 3 months of hands on training in most aspects of the clinical end of dentistry. She then decided to pursue dental assisting. In 1979, she graduated at the top of her class from UH Manoa Dental Assisting Program. To date, Del has worked with Dr Randall Kam for over 15 years prior to his relocating to Kahala.
Spending time with her 3 grandsons is at the top of her list for enjoyment. She also loves crafting, sewing, and Hula/Polynesian dances.

Shannon - Dental Hygienist
I was initially undecided on what to study when I attended the University
of Hawaii in Manoa. While I attended college, I worked as a dental
receptionist in Honolulu for 4 years. Eventually, I learned the clinical
aspects of dentistry from my front office position and decided to study
dental hygiene at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, receiving my bachelor's
degree in dental hygiene in 1996.
I love what I do because I love connecting with my patients and being a part
of helping to keep them healthy. When I'm not in the office, I spend most of
my time taking care of my family and enjoying time with them.
