Mark Nartatez
Office Manager
Mark Nartatez is originally from the island of the Philippines. He moved to Hawaii when he was about 9 years
old and has been in Oahu for almost 18 years now. Mark lives with his extended family in Wahiawa. He has 3
brothers and a sister. He went to Heald College in 2006 to study to become a dental assistant and he is now
back at Heald College to get his degree in Business Administration.
Mark has been with Dr. Leung for about 3 years now and loves working with her.
Aside from going to school and being the office manager, Mark also does in-office
training of Heald College students to help them get their degree as a dental
assistant. Mark loves to be around people and loves being able to comfort patients
and educate them about treatment they need. He speaks Ilocano, which helps some
Filipino patients understand more about the procedures offered here at the office.
Outside of work and studying for school, Mark loves to spend his free time catching
up on his sleep, doing chores around the house and spending time with his miniature
dachshund dogs.

Arlene Palileo-Noel
Registered Dental Hygienist
Arlene
worked as an orthodontic dental assistant
from 1983-1987. In 1987, she moved to
Kentucky with her two sons (then ages two
and three) to begin her pre-dental hygiene
classes. In 1990, she graduated with honors
from the University of Southern Indiana.
After graduating and obtaining her Indiana
dental hygiene licensure, she worked in two
different dental offices for a period of
five years. When she obtained her Hawaii
dental hygiene license in 1994, she moved
back home to Hawaii in 1995.
While
working as an on-call temporary hygienist,
she had the opportunity to work with many
different dentists. What she likes most
about working with Dr. Leung is that she
genuinely cares for her patients as well as
her staff. This is the trait she admires
most in Dr. Leung, that she's found so few
dentists lack. Dr. Leung is 'one of a kind'.
Away from the office, Arlene enjoys
listening to music, collecting sea shells
and turning it into artwork.

Jo-Ellen Espelien
Registered Dental Hygienist
Born and raised in North Dakota, Jo Ellen discovered the field of dentistry
at an early age and began working as an assistant in high school. After
obtaining her dental hygiene degree, she relocated and began working in a
St. Helens, Oregon practice along with multiple offices in the Portland area.
Two years later, she heard the call of Hawaii and got a one-way ticket to Honolulu.
Working with the Honolulu Medical Group for 10 years as Dental Hygienist and
Department Supervisor, she also traveled to neighbor islands to assist during
dental hygiene shortages.
Jo Ellen has been working with Dr. Randall
Kam for the past 25 years. During this
time, they have had the pleasure of caring
for many satisfied dental clients as well as
their children's and grandchildren's
smiles. Their combined knowledge, talent,
and teamwork will help you keep your teeth
for life.
When not helping you care for your smile, Jo
Ellen finds time to deep sea fish, sail, and
relax on the beach while creating custom
beaded jewelry. Traveling, whenever
possible, is her passion.
